The origins of Positive Health Medical Centre began long ago in Pinelands Plaza in 1975. The surgery was unnamed and unbranded and its original owner was Dr Stitz. The practice went through a doctors before being managed by Dr Sarah Cunningham in 1991. Dr Cunningham continued to practice in the small Pinelands location for a number of years but found the life of a solo practitioner to be challenging for the proper management of her patients. She made plans to attract more doctors and provide more services to the local community. She seized the opportunity to move to a larger busier location at Sunnybank Hills Shopping Town in 1997.
Currently at Positive Health Medical Centre we boast vibrant surroundings positioned next to Priceline pharmacy and located in a busy shopping centre. We have a brand new computer system fully equipped with the latest in electronic health records. We have a two nurse support team to make handling appointments and staying on time that little bit easier. We have a vast array of allied health on site and close by, including;
It came to our attention that many of our elderly patients found it difficult to find transport to the doctors. To combat this we have run a courtesy bus for many years to assist our disadvantaged patients. We have excellent chronic disease management and recall systems. We are a fully accredited practice involved in division collaboratives and chronic disease management.
Positive Health has big plans but still offers the small practice personal approach to health care. Our caring doctors and allied health professionals work closely to ensure that our patients are being looked after in every aspect of their health. To do this we focus largely on preventative medicine as many diseases effecting Australians are avoidable with appropriate foresight and planning. It has been a pleasure assisting the local people of Sunnybank Hills in their quest for good health and we are very much looking forward to continuing our good work. Because after all, good health should last a life time!
